Google has officially launched the messaging feature for Google My Business users. This allows Google My Business businesses to go to their dashboard and turn on messaging. Once activated, a customer looking at your Google local panel or maps listing can click the “message” button to communicate with you via text messaging.

To opt out of the messaging feature
- Sign in to Google My Business.
- Find the “Chat” card in the Home menu.
- Click Opt out.
- Click Turn off.
You can turn on messaging again at any time.
You can also use Google Allo, rather than SMS, to respond to messages.
